Alex and Rachael first met at a party in the summer of 2020.
 

While that summer was technically the first time they had ever met in person, their true story began in 2018 when they had matched on the dating app we all know as Hinge. Messages were exchanged, instagram accounts were followed, but in a classic case of right people wrong timing- Rachael had no time for boys

as she was preparing to backpack through Europe after graduating with her MSW.

Feeling a bit discouraged, Alex remembers 'unfollowing this pretty girl who never seemed to respond,'

while Rachael recalls 'catching flights and climbing mountains' before starting her first post-graduate job.

​

A couple years later, Alex established his career as a successful psychologist,

 while Rachael settled into her role as a social worker treating at-risk youth and families.

Preparing to take her next career next step toward becoming a clinically-licensed therapist,

Rachael studied around the clock in anticipation of her upcoming licensing exam.

The weekend before exam day, Rachael found herself in the park,

paging through textbooks in need of a much deserved break.

Around the same time as this realization, she was invited to a party in NYC

..and in the spirit of  spontaneity (sanity), decided to shut her textbooks and go.

​

On a hot summer night toward the end of August, Alex and Rachael would serendipitously arrive

at the same party she was invited to earlier that day. Rachael recognized Alex from that dating app

a few years back, and Alex recognized the girl he unfollowed in 'preservation of his ego!'

Drawn to one another like old friends who never got around to actually meeting,

Rachael walked up to Alex and said 'hello!'

 In learning about Rachael's upcoming career move, Alex 'immediately saw his in' and offered all

the psych-advice he could. Rachael was as excited to learn as Alex was as eager to share his experience!

​

Over the next several months, Rachael and Alex would grow to know

each other over coffee-turned-dinner dates, and would

lgrow to love one another over their passion for helping others.

 

Nearly 7 years later from when they first 'met'-

Rachael and Alex are getting ready to start their biggest adventure yet!​
